01Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Prompto (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the App — and if you've already paid, write to us for a refund.
These terms apply to every version of Prompto for macOS, whether installed from our website, a direct download link, or any authorized distribution channel.
02Your license
When you purchase Prompto, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on any Mac you personally own or control. One purchase covers all your Macs — desktop, laptop, future upgrades.
The license is yours for life. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and no license that expires on a calendar date.
03What you can't do
You agree not to:
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or transfer your license to someone else.
- Share your license key publicly or with people who haven't paid.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App's source code, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.
- Use the App to store or distribute content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction.
Reasonable use on personal devices is always fine. If you're unsure whether a particular use is okay, just ask.
04Your content
Your prompts, tags, descriptions, and library are yours. We never see them, we never claim any rights to them, and we never acquire ownership through your use of the App.
Because everything is local, you are responsible for backing up your library. We recommend enabling Time Machine or placing your library file in a synced folder.
05Payments & refunds
Prompto costs $6.99 as a one-time payment. The price may change for future purchases, but not for anyone who has already bought it.
We offer a 30-day refund, no questions asked. Email hello@prompto.appwith your order ID and we'll issue a full refund through our payment processor (Paddle). After 30 days we can still consider a refund but it's at our discretion.
06Updates & changes
Your license includes every future update to Prompto — bug fixes, new features, performance improvements. We may, at our discretion, release a separate major version in the future; if we do, existing customers will receive a meaningful discount or a free upgrade path.
We may modify these Terms at any time. The updated version replaces this one at the same URL, with the “Effective” date updated. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept them. If you don't agree, uninstall the App.
07Warranty & liability
We care deeply about making Prompto reliable, but the App is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prompto and its makers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App — including, but not limited to, loss of data, loss of productivity, or business interruption. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the App.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have as a consumer under applicable law.
08Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by quitting and uninstalling it. Your library file remains on your disk until you delete it yourself.
We may terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms — for example, by sharing your license key publicly or attempting to circumvent the App's license verification. In such cases, we will first attempt to contact you at the email used for your purchase.
09Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Madrid, Spain — except where applicable consumer protection laws give you the right to sue in your own country.
